Think OLED Technology on Anything

I just was shooting some Focuso Photographs and at night they make really cool glowing spots. Please see the Focuso.org site for an example and a contest!

In naming the pictures, I started imagining that they were everyday items in the year 2020 and had been affected by OLED technology. It was an eye opening experience! Please take a look: See Pictures. Either click the icons to see the titles or roll over the icons and there should be a title tip. For example the picture below is called 2020 Money.

This Tapoll predict-a-poll asks which of the more obvious things will be affected most by OLED technology - add a 2020 if you want but it will probably be more like a 2010 when all this breaks.

In our Sheridan Interactive Multimedia program in Oakville, we are preparing the students for OLED Walls with Big Interactive projects using touchscreen and gesture technology.

Will the iPhone Make it?

Apple as you most likely know is coming out with the iPhone - see http://iphone.org. If features some cool interface concepts like multitouch, gyrointerface, orientation swapping and great navigation!

Kind of a lopsided one but I don't want to spoil the result - there are some dissenters out there... are you one? Cast your prediction and vote - just click on the little round things below - it is much easier than pie.

Who Makes the Best Software - Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, IBM?

This is a fun one... Who produces the best software. Now there are different kinds of software and there are legacy issues which might affect opinion. Also, not everyone knows or uses software from all the listed makers: Adobe, Microsoft, Google, IBM, and Yahoo. But... we'll see what the results are in this Tapoll predict-a-poll!

Multitouch Interface - Pan Zoom Rotate

Multitouch is an exciting interface principle explored by Bill Buxton amongst others in the 80s. Now fantastic videos are surfacing showing working models. Dan Zen would like to point out that while multitouch is indeed impressive, part of the WOW factor is just the panning, zooming and rotating. These can be accomplished on a number of Dan Zen tools using a hot key and dragzooming for instance. This has enough of the necessary functionality to still make a WOW. See Zen Picture with Pan Zoom and Zen Mix with shift and ctrl zoom and pan options.

Will the Apple iPhone Make It?

The iPhone looks great! The multitouch interface is very exciting and has been examples of other Tapoll polls - see multitouch undter topics. The vertical horizontal auto adjustment is cool as is the proximity to the ear. http://www.iphone.org

Will Google's Office Suite Rival Microsoft's

The rivalry between Google and Microsoft heats up. It is interesting to watch how Google's "reputation" is changing as well as they go from an underdog to the mega company. This area would be interesting to conduct some polls in too.
